Day one
Tour the reporting route for a concern. Show where the year map lives. Sit in one ordinary lesson in the department.
End of week two
The mentor and the line manager watch a lesson together and agree one focus. The new teacher can state the three school priorities and the safeguarding route without notes.
Record
File the checklist with the date. A missing safeguarding step is not waived because the timetable is short-staffed.
